hi i am Sandyann from Australia. I have just registered and am finding my way around. What i am hoping to be able to do is to find out about older style dolls, there age, and a bit about them as i sell preloved dolls at a local market each weekend and also a Doll and Bear show once a year. I often come across some that i don't know what they are or how old so is there anywhere i go here to ask such questions and i could take photos to show you, is that what is done here.
I collect all sorts of dolls. I have a 1975 original Strawberry shortcake in her original clothes. A cupie doll with long hair, plus more.
I have just done some reading up on Regal dolls and i have a doll with the markings Hornsman on them and i know that Regal took over the Horseman brand.
looking forward to checking things out around here.;)

My name is Pat and I live in Ontario,Canada...it's nice to meet you.
I'm sorry I can't help you though, I only collect Middleton dolls. This used to be a booming forum, but since it sold almost everyone left and I don't really think the gals who post here will be able to tell you what you want to know...I could be wrong though.
Good luck on your search...I hope you can find what you are looking for.

Hi Pat, Thanks for the reply, i really didn't think i would get one as when i checked things out around here, well as you said there doesn't seem to be a lot of activitly going on. I am hoping to come across a more active doll forum while i am searching.
Since my post i have come across some good info on Regal dolls, it was quite informative and apparanatley they are still in business in New York , USA. So you see i have learnt something already.
Sorry for my ignorance but i am not sure i have heard of Middleton dolls but maybe i have, would you have any pics of yours i could look at.;)

Hi Sandyann...I'm glad that you managed to find some of the info that you were looking for. I have 28 Middletons and lots of pics, but I am fairly new to the computer world and haven't yet figured out how to post pics. Aimee...thanks for posting the link. Sandy...that will give you a good idea of the kind of dolls we collect. Aimee is also a Middleton collector but has way more dolls than I have.

Thanks so much Aimee, i really didn't know of those Middleton dolls but wow they sure are nice, i am going to see if they are available in Australia, i have a feeling they may be as the name seems familiar to me.
And Pat thanks so much for the link, i am going to go there later on as have to go out now, guess where i am going to a friend i have met and she wants me to look at her large doll collection so i am so excited as i love seeing others dolls. I will definately join the other forum as i really would like other ladies to talk to and show my dolls. I can post pictures as have been doing so for some time in my craft forums, It really is easy once you learn how.
Thanks again for the link, i carnt' wait to get online tonight and join up

Hi Sandyann.
I am not really a doll collector, so I can't help you out.
I just wanted to welcome you to the group.
Those are cute dollies, are they all vinyl, and how big are they? They remind me of some of the ones my girls had as children. I still have a doll that I got as a child [in fact the only doll I ever got...I never played with them, I was a real tomboy] She is not a baby..she is about 24 in and is dressed as a cowgirl..hat, boots and all. Gosh..come to think of it she is probably about 50 years old!!!

Thanks Storm and Pat,
Pat the little ones are 8inches high and the two dressed in lemon are 20-22inches. They are all soft bodies and plastic/vinyl head and limbs.
I love nothing more than coming across an old or rare doll.
I have a 1975 Strawberry Shortcake doll in her original dress and some others i am hoping to get info on over at the other forum
